I ventured out of Greensboro, NC and crossed both the continental US and the Pacific Ocean to follow my dreams. After initially studying Korean I realized I wanted to better understand the process of language acquisition and, therefore, began my journey studying Second Language Studies at the University of Hawaii. As a self-taught language learner I wanted to not only discover more innovative ways for myself to learn, but also students I would teach in the future.
I am just starting my teaching career and look forward to the experiences and challenges I will encounter. Life, like language, is unpredictable and spontaneous and I anticipate what I will encounter in the future.

At the University of Hawaii at Manoa I was able to learn an array of skills all while discovering so much about myself and my passions
Teaching at President Thomas Jefferson Elementary was one of the most joyful and eye-opening experiences of my life. I hope that I can inspire other teachers and students in a similarly to how I was inspired.
I have planted pieces of my heart all over the world and cherish each memory along with the hopeful experiences to ensue
